Connecting to uOttawa Zoom

==Students==
If you are a student you will need to connect your student email (@uottawa.ca), or whichever one you use to sign in to brightspace, to the uOttawa Zoom to be able to use the Zoom tab in Brightspace. Your prof may be using this for their online lectures and labs.

If you do not do it you will probably get a message along the lines of 'User does not exist: <u>youremail@uottawa.ca</u>' when you click on the Zoom tab in brightspace.

==Employees==
If you are an employee you are able to have a Zoom account with more privileges like unlimited meeting duration and up to 300 participants. To get this you must use your employee email and follow the same procedure as above to link your email to the uOttawa Zoom.

If you have never gotten access to your employee email or you are a new employee you will have to follow these steps to get the email setup:

#You first need to contact HR with your birth date and your SIN to know what your email is, the fastest way is to call them at 613-562-5832 (you can only do this if a contract has been created for you, ask your manager if you are unsure)
##You can also look up your name in the MS Teams directory and you should find it
#You can then submit a ticket with IT to reset your password for your employee email here https://uoforms.uottawa.ca/it/en/password-reset-request
#Finally you can login to your email in Outlook and set up your Zoom account once you get the password

TinkerCAD is nice for smaller parts with very little complexity. It is strongly suggested at this stage that TinkerCAD, Blender, Cinema 4D or other [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygonal_modeling polygonal modelling] (non-NURBS) applications be set aside for parametric CAD software, such as [https://www.autodesk.ca/en/products/fusion-360 Autodesk Fusion 360] ([https://www.autodesk.ca/en/products/fusion-360/students-teachers-educators free for students. teachers, and educators]), [https://www.solidworks.com/ Dassault Systèmes Solidworks] (available through Remote Apps) or [https://www.onshape.com/en/ PTC OnShape] (completely online, free for students and educators) be used for mechanical design, as models made with such software contain much richer data that allows going from CAD models to manufacturing data. Polygonal modelling remains, however, an important tool for Scan to CAD, and such the intermediate CAD user should have a complete understanding of polygonal modelling software such as TinkerCAD.

If you want to use special 3D Printers of the makerspace, you can send a Print Order Request on [https://makerepo.com/print_orders/new Makerepo]. You can access this page by logging on makerepo.com or [https://makerepo.com/new creating an account] and click on the dropdown menu on your profile name and click on [https://makerepo.com/print_orders "Order a Print/Laser Cut"] and click on "New Print Order"

# Please read the paragraph at the top of the page and note that there is always a 15$ Setup Fee if you decide to accept the quote (if you don't accept the quote, you won't be charged)
# Input your STL File
# Choose the material
#* PLA
#* ABS
#* Others : Ninjaflex (Flexible), PVA, Markforged Materials (Onyx and more) and others (Contact Us for the exact list of materials : makerspace@uottawa.ca)
# Choose the quality depending on what you need
# Choose if you want to use the Dimension SST Printer (Industrial Grade Printer that prints with ABS and Soluble Support filament)
# Choose if you need expedited printing (It will add a 20$ CAD Surcharge)
# When you are ready to submit the request (Please not that you can decide to not accept the quote once your receive it)
# Wait until you receive an email from us, It will give you a detailled quote that you can accept or not, If you want to accept it go back to the [https://makerepo.com/print_orders "Order a Print/Laser Cut"] page, from the moment you accept the quote you accept to pay the price of your part when you pick it up. Please note that we can deny prints for different reason that will be detailed in the email. (Won't work, Too big, Weapons and more), if you want to fix your model and send it again, please do so, we will review the new file.
# Once you accepted the quote, the staff will process it and print it when it will be the next in queue, please note that we will go in the order of accepted quote, it might take a few days or weeks before it gets printed, if you need the faster print, please choose expedited printing)
# Once the print is ready, you will receive an email and you can come pick it up at the UOttawa Makerspace and pay (Cash, Credit Card, Debit Card only)
